El nuevo trabajo de la banda Hamerex, titulado “IX”, se nos presenta con un largo recorrido a sus espaldas y nos llega desde West Yorkshire, Reino Unido. Es su segundo álbum, aunque como toda banda consagrada, tienen grabados más temas, maquetas, epés, y lo mejor, todos disponibles en su página web, donde puedes navegar y encontrar todos estos trabajos. Pocas veces podemos agradecer este tipo de detalles.

Aunque estamos ante un nuevo trabajo bien propio del heavy metal, cuentan con un cantante de voz potente más propia del rock duro, y esa mezcla genial y compacta es la mejor característica que define a esta banda.

Haciendo un recorrido general por el disco, encontramos una batería que cede el protagonismo a las guitarras y al bajo, solos de guitarras virtuosos pero sencillos, pegadizos y con fuerza. Además encontramos algún recorrido de solo de bajo, que bien hace las delicias de los que esperamos alguna sorpresa. No tiene ninguna fisura ese cantante que hace sonreír a los que buscan una voz potente y poderosa lejos de la melodiosa y operística que nos tiene acostumbrados el heavy metal.

Los temas son bien diferenciados, con una línea general identificadora, pero con personalidad única. Los efectos de sonido son los justos, nada que no puedan ofrecernos en directo, con sus instrumentos y su material. Aplaudamos el concierto que nos ofrece este sencillo trabajo, cuyo título sirvió para conmemorar el noveno aniversario de Hamerex.
